The Hijri New Year, also known as Islamic New Year is the day that marks the beginning of a new Islamic calendar year and is the day on which the year count is incremented.
The first day of the year is observed on the first day of Muharram, the first month in the Islamic calendar. This year Islamic New Year or Hijri New Year 1441 falls on August 31, 2019. Muslims celebrate the holiday by attending prayer sessions in their mosque and spending time with family. Nowadays, people celebrate Islamic New Year by sending wishes to their friends and families.
